An affiliation of senior women working in the fields of finance and business in Québec and in Canada, the Association des femmes en finance du Québec (AFFQ) is, first and foremost, a forum that promotes the professional advancement of women. The AFFQ numbers more than 350 active members.

The AFFQ's cornerstone
 
The AFFQ offers its members a range of benefits consistent with their professional objectives, and guides them in much the same way an impresario would her or his artists. The following are typical of the initiatives the AFFQ undertakes to foster women development and growth:
 
  • it recommends and supports qualified women appointments to boards of directors in the public and para-public sectors and in large private companies;
  • it promotes women's interest in contributing to the economic development of Québec;
  • it supports member listings in the Women in the Lead, directory that publishes the names of women whose qualifications meet directorship requirements;
  • it positions itself as a source of communication professionals in matters of public debates and policies and in matters of finance and economics particularly involving women;
  • it ably opens the doors of senior decision makers in Québec thanks to its influence over the Québec economy.
